World Concern
Some exciting news before ringing in the New Year! I have officially become an ambassador for World Concern. World Concern is a faith-based organization that has been serving others around the world since 1955. They travel to the end of the road for people in extreme need. Why extreme? Well because we ALL have an extreme calling–to act as the hands and feet of Jesus. World Concern searches for the thirsty, exploited, malnourished, forgotten, and lonely. And they listen, walk alongside and aim to provide them with a better life. Transforming villages and communities take time and it’s not always pretty but every person on this earth is worth fighting for.
World Concern currently works in 12 countries, Haiti, Congo, Uganda, and Kenya to name a few. They work to help and transform families and villages that are at the end of the Road going to places no one can or has gone before. They act as a bridge. Using their hands and feet to bring resources like food and water to the thirsty and hungry. They use their mouths to say encouraging and kind words to the brokenhearted. And they use the Word of God to spread the good news of Hope and Faith for a better life in the future and for the life that matters most after our time here on earth, with Him up in heaven. World Concern aims to bring new light and new life to many people by meeting their physical needs but their spiritual needs as well. Through their work, our goal is for everyone to experience the transformative power of God’s love.
I am excited to work alongside World Concern and to help serve the people that need us most. Whether the sick, malnourished, lonely, oppressed, and forgotten all over the world. There is much work to be done, many needs to be met, and much love to be shown and with World Concern, we’ll start at the end of the road. The quote of the blog is from Mathew 23:11,
Jesus says, “He who is greatest among you shall be your servant.”
We might not have the opportunity to travel to the end of the road to serve the lonely, forgotten, and malnourished but it shouldn’t stop us from serving those that need our help right next to us, in our home towns, in our own communities, the people we pass by every day:) Every act of service big or small will make a difference more than we will ever know.
